Qualifications:

  • Educational Preference: RN required BSN preferred

  • Experience: Required 2 years Acute care experience. Experience with Zulresso infusion preferred.

  • Additional requirements / comments / education / experience / skills, registration or certification:

    BLS Provider required. ACLS provider or willing to obtain within 6 months of employment. PALS certification recommended. Obtain PSI certification when eligible

Description of Job: Exists to provide Zulresso infusion services to patients at Ohio County Healthcare. All actions will be consistent with the hospital’s purpose, vision and values and will be adherent to the legal compliance program, policies, and procedures, as well as other regulatory issues.

  • Works with pharmacists to understand mechanisms of action for drug, rationale for use and side effects/adverse reaction monitoring processes
  • Provide Zulresso 60-hour infusions in Acute Care setting at OCH Completion of Edinburgh Scoring Mechanism for pre and post-infusion
  • Work with specialty clinic staff to schedule pre-infusion and post-infusion appointments (1 week, 6 weeks, and 6 months)
  • Work with ordering physician and hospitalists to provide outstanding care to Zulresso patients during infusions
  • Maintain positive contact with patients from intake of referral to post infusion follow up
  • Management of all REMS required paperwork and audits to ensure compliance
  • Communication with SAGE Central regarding all patient referrals
  • Assist Director of Patient Navigation and doctor to develop peri-natal mood disorder clinic at OCH Provide relief coverage as a “float” RN position for other nursing departments of OCH Coordinate Zulresso with pharmacy department in relation to ordering medications, scheduling infusion, and confirming with all ancillary departments and ensuring involvement with all interdisciplinary team members
  • Work with patient to ensure all referrals for discharge services are made prior to release from OCH post-infusion Understand utilization review process, including eligibility and benefit check to completion of precertification prior to infusion
  • Participating in education provided by post-partum support international (PSI) and completing certification when eligible
  • Maintain working relationship with River Valley Behavioral Health
  • Frequently accesses email to stay up to date on information within the organization and provides a way of communication between staff members.
